General Announcements:

  • A reminder to students to be respectful to our community member’s property by not littering on the road or cutting through peoples property etc.

  • Missed out on last month's school merch sales?? We are having another sale from Wednesday May 13 till Friday May 15 during junior and senior high lunch. Get school merch at a discounted price. Limited sizing available.

  • If you have any dance shoes you would like to donate to dancers who cannot afford shoes- Please see Kayla Mariner-Hartlin or drop them off at the Lake & Shore Rec Centre attached to Porters Lake Elementary.

Spain and Portugal 2027 Trip Announcements:  

Students going on the Europe Trip to Spain and Portugal 2027 - there will be a short meeting at the start of lunch Today in the wood lab.

General Announcements: 

-The province is testing emergency alert system at 1:55 today. Be advised if you are having an assessment during that period.  All cell phones should alert.

-There is a lunch and learn- Steps to finding employment on Wednesday, May 27 and your School Liason Dawn during lunch.  Pizza will be available and a drew for a door prize.  Limited to 8 participants. Please see Dawn to sign up.

-School Liaison Dawn Gardiner is available today in space 100, outside the Art and Media rooms if you require assistance with a resume, cover letter, interview skills, job search or career exploration, Please stop by for an appointment.

Today is: Day at the Museum in Mr. Odo’s room. 

-The Gr 7s created World War I dioramas and they will be on display from 10:30am - 11:30pm.  Junior High teachers are welcome to take their students down, and students are welcome to pop-in at the beginning of lunch recess to see the dioramas.  

-Banana bread sale today and tomorrow during Jr. High lunch, $2.00 a slice or $5.00 for 3 slices. All proceeds are going to help elderly animals find homes.

Athletic Announcements:

-Boys Rugby Game @ Mainland Commons vs Lockview, Wednesday, May 6·4:30 – 6:00pm

-Last night the Girls Box lacrosse team finished the tournament with an impressive 6-2 win over Auburn to win the 2026 Metro Championship.  This was a Division 1 Tournament with schools well over 3-5 times the population of ESC.  The hard work paid off with the girls scoring 41 goals for with only 9 against throughout the tournament.  Great work ladies, you should be very proud!!!

Wednesday will be: Day at the Museum in Mr. Odo’s room. 

-The Gr 7s created World War I dioramas and they will be on display from 10:30am - 11:30pm.  Junior High teachers are welcome to take their students down, and students are welcome to pop-in at the beginning of lunch recess to see the dioramas.

-SH Boys Slo-Pitch Practice @ East Chezz Field, Tuesday, May 5·4:00 – 5:30pm

-The Girls Lacrosse team punched their ticket to the finals today with a 4-0 win over Woodlawn.  The girls had scoring from 4 different players showing the depth of this team.   Come out and cheer on the girls at 7:30 pm tonight vs Auburn.

-The boys lacrosse lost a heartbreaker last night to Lockview 7-5.  Boys had an amazing tournament, making the Shore proud.  Shout out to the seniors and the coaches for the dedication to this team.

This is a great honour to commemorate the journey you and your classmates took to reach graduation and to address our entire school community! It is something that is sure to make your family proud for years to come. And it is an amazing accomplishment to beef up your resume! If you are interested in giving an interesting, clever, funny, and moving speech to your graduating class, families, and school staff, please write a 5-10 minute speech.  We are asking that you present your speech to the best of your abilities on video. Feel free to use a phone. Please see Mr. Stoffman for tips, guidance, and the scoring rubric as early as possible. Please share your best version with hstoffman@gnspes.ca by Monday May 1st. -Girls SH Slo-Pitch list will be posted outside the washroom.  All on the list have a practice at 4pm at Bennets Field.

-Girls SH Lacrosse team finished the round robin with a 5-0 win over Woodlawn securing the #1 seed and a bye to the semi finals On Monday at 6pm the Lebrun.

-Boys SH Lacrosse also went undefeated securing the #1 seed and playing the same Monday night at 9pm at Lebrun.  

-So combined our lacrosse teams went 8-0 quite the accomplishment for the smallest school in HRCE….fans are encouraged to attend Mondays Games…

-Your girls Lax team scored an impressive 8-1 last night vs Millwood.  Goal scorers were Tessa Macmillan with 3, Stella Haverstock with 2, and Lacy Poirier, Abbey Fahie, and Alexa Smith with singles.  The girls are working hard and are now 3-0 in the tournament.  The Girls are reminded of their practice today at the Eastern Shore Rink at 4pm.  See Mr.Kent if you need a drive.

-Do you want to get in some volunteer hours over March break, while having fun?  Well, if so- the U7 Eastern Shore Mariners Hockey Association will be having their hockey Jamboree on Saturday, March 14th and Sunday March 15th.  To sign up come to the main office and sign your name.  For more information contact Mr. Kent or Eva Arnold.

Band & Music Announcements:

-A reminder to all junior musical theatre soloists of the rehearsal today at lunch. 

-The ESCS Band and Jr. Musical theatre has a concert on Tuesday, March 10th. The concert is British Themed and includes music from The Beatles, Elton John and the Junior Musical Theatre group. Come and see these amazing musicians. Doors open at 6:30pm, and the concert starts at 7:00pm

-Would all members of the girls hockey team with teachers permission come to Mr Kent's room 108 after announcements for a short 5 min meeting.

Reminder to students who are driving. Our parking lot is for staff and grade 12’s only. Any grade 12’s wanting to park in our lot MUST have a parking pass issued by the office.
